Experience and practical knowledge
Decisions are informed by how buildings, materials and connected trades work together.
Established in 2004
We work primarily on residential projects where good communication, careful coordination and reliable workmanship matter throughout the build.

How we work
Altair Building Limited was incorporated in 2004. Today, we work with homeowners on extensions, loft conversions, renovations and new builds across North West London, Watford, St Albans, Harpenden and Luton.
Building work affects more than the rooms under construction. It changes how a household moves through the day, where belongings are kept and which decisions need to be made at each stage. Our approach starts with that wider picture.
We listen to the client’s priorities, review the property and define the scope before work begins. This creates a clearer basis for quotations, planning and coordination. It also helps identify where drawings, engineering advice, Building Regulations input or specialist trades may be required.

From drawings to site
A useful plan must work on paper and on site. We consider layout, access, materials, services and the order in which different trades need to work. Potential constraints are raised early so they can be discussed before they become expensive changes.
Where a project involves an architect, structural engineer or other professional, we can coordinate the relevant information within the agreed scope. Approvals cannot be guaranteed, but their requirements can be identified and allowed for sensibly.
Decisions are informed by how buildings, materials and connected trades work together.
Clients receive clear updates and space to ask questions throughout the project.
Preparation, installation and finishing details are treated as connected parts of the result.
Multiple stages can be coordinated under one agreed project plan.
Working principles
Good communication is regular, relevant and honest. Before starting, we agree how updates will be shared and which decisions are likely to be needed. During the project, conversations focus on progress, upcoming work and anything that may affect the agreed scope.
If existing conditions reveal something that could not reasonably be confirmed in advance, we explain the issue and discuss the available response before proceeding with a material change.
A neat finish depends on the work beneath it. Substrates, levels, junctions, service routes and material compatibility all influence the final result. We give these details proper attention and review work at suitable stages rather than relying only on a final inspection.
Protection and housekeeping are also part of a carefully managed project. The approach is adapted to the property and the work, with the aim of limiting avoidable disruption and leaving the area ready for handover.
Our services cover extensions, new builds, loft conversions, kitchens, bathrooms, interior finishing, construction, roofing, patios, driveways, heating and plumbing. Some clients need one defined installation; others need several stages coordinated as a single programme.
The right route depends on the property, proposed design and approvals. An initial conversation helps establish whether the project is ready for quotation or would benefit from further drawings, surveys or specification work first.
